The book is jammed packed with colorful exercises that both engage and open up communication between the parent and child throughout the divorce process. Each exercise comes with directions for the parent, outlining the 1) purpose of the exercise 2) clear directions to give the child and 3) insightful follow-up questions to further open up the discussion. Exercises like “My Zoo Family” and and “My Zoo Feelings”, which asks the child to pick zoo animals for family members and for their different feelings, allows the child to safely explore and label their feelings in a light, entertaining fashion.
